Job Description THE POSITION: The Scrum Master (Project Manager) plays a key role in enabling Agile delivery by facilitating and coordinating Agile Scrum processes across the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring that Scrum Teams work collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality products and solutions. The Scrum Master serves as a coach and mentor to the team, removes impediments, promotes continuous improvement, and works closely with Product Owners, Product Development teams, business stakeholders, and project/program leadership to support delivery within agreed timelines, budget, scope, and quality expectations. The role requires strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and Agile coaching skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes within the organization and ensure effective adoption of the Scrum framework.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
- Guide and coach Scrum Team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile Scrum principles, practices, roles, and responsibilities.
- Ensure the team works collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality products and solutions.
- Work closely with the Product Owner/Product Developer to support product backlog prioritization, refinement, story readiness, and sprint planning.
- Identify, track, troubleshoot, and remove impediments and obstacles that may hinder the team's progress.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, feedback sessions, coaching, and implementation of improvement actions.
- Communicate project and sprint status, delivery progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and impediments to relevant stakeholders.
- Track Agile KPIs and metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown/burnup, capacity, throughput, cycle time, and delivery predictability.
- Monitor sprint and release progress and proactively identify risks that may impact timelines, budget, scope, or quality.
- Facilitate effective collaboration across Product, Development, QA, Business Analysis, Project Management, and other cross-functional teams.
- Support release planning and ensure alignment between sprint objectives, product priorities, and broader delivery milestones.
- Ensure the Scrum Team follows the Scrum framework and operates in accordance with Agile principles and agreed ways of working.
- Encourage self-organization, accountability, transparency, and sustainable delivery practices within the team.
- Maintain appropriate Agile dashboards, action logs, RAID items, metrics, and status reporting.
- Support resolution of conflicts within the team and facilitate constructive discussions to achieve outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity, delivery quality, and Agile maturity.
- Collaborate with project/program managers and leadership on delivery planning, dependencies, escalations, and governance.
- Support distributed and cross-functional teams by establishing effective communication and collaboration practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or equivalent.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with preferred experience of 3–5 years in Agile software/product delivery.
- Experience in software development, programming concepts, databases, and DB querying.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
- Good understanding of application architecture and software development processes.
- Ability to understand technical requirements, application dependencies, integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of relational databases and database concepts.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification is preferred/required for the role.
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of Agile Scrum principles, practices, roles, events, artifacts, and accountabilities.
- Hands-on experience facilitating Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to guide teams toward self-organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, and remove impediments and delivery blockers.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies effectively for cross-functional teams.
- Experience working collaboratively with Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Experience tracking and communicating Agile KPIs, delivery metrics, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or Trello.
- Experience in software development, programming concepts, databases, and DB querying.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Strong ability to promote continuous improvement and drive actionable outcomes from retrospectives and feedback sessions.

Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree/Masters Degree in IT Stream
- Additional certification in Agile methodologies, such as Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), or equivalent.
- SAFe Scrum Master certification is a plus.
- Kanban certification or practical Kanban experience is a plus.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, Trello, or equivalent Agile delivery tools.
- Experience working with technology, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting Agile transformation, organizational change, or Scrum maturity initiatives is an advantage.
