Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to support a large, multi-year healthcare construction project in San Francisco. This individual will oversee the planning and implementation of IT infrastructure supporting a new multispecialty ambulatory care facility scheduled to open in 2029. The broader development will include four floors of clinical space, proton therapy facilities, and a bioengineering/incubator hub. The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership (P3), requiring close coordination between UCSF, the developer, construction partners, vendors, and internal IT teams. Contract through March 2029 Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) Pay: $90-100/hour on W2 Responsibilities
- Manage IT infrastructure planning and implementation across a large healthcare construction project.
- Develop and maintain the IT project plan, milestones, dependencies, risks, and implementation activities.
- Coordinate network infrastructure, endpoints, printers, scanners, wireless, and other technology required throughout the facility.
- Partner with construction, facilities, vendors, clinical teams, and internal IT stakeholders to ensure technology requirements align with building plans and timelines.
- Translate ambulatory clinical workflows and room designs into appropriate technology and endpoint requirements.
- Coordinate network implementation and wireless requirements with internal teams and external design partners.
- Support Epic-adjacent infrastructure requirements, including print mapping and clinical device/endpoint workflows.
- Epic-adjacent infrastructure experience, including print mapping and endpoint workflows.
- Ensure appropriate technology is planned for specialized workflows, including Beaker printers, barcode scanners, exam room technology, and other clinical devices.
- Manage implementation activities through construction, activation, and facility opening.
Requirements Required Qualifications
- Strong healthcare construction project management experience.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure for new hospital, clinic, ambulatory, or other healthcare facility construction.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking, endpoints, wireless, printers, and clinical technology infrastructure.
- Experience supporting ambulatory clinical environments and understanding clinical workflows and exam room technology requirements.
- Epic-adjacent infrastructure experience, including print mapping and endpoint workflows.
- Experience coordinating technology requirements with construction teams, architects, vendors, and internal IT stakeholders.
- Strong project planning, implementation, risk management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite in San Francisco for the duration of the engagement.
